Born to the third most common American first name and the second most common Chinese last name, JOHN LI managed to struggle to find a home in either culture. But, growing up in rural New Jersey with a heart-condition, he found himself embracing his creativity and desire to explore, to entertain, and to tell stories important for him to discover and share with the others displaced in our ever-intersectional world. With award-winning work from narrative shorts to documentaries, John is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.F.A. in Film and Television Production and minor in Entertainment Industry. Alongside independent producing, he interned at numerous POD and Studios including Apple TV+ and Blumhouse Productions. After graduating, John began his professional career at United Talent Agency as an assistant in Motion Picture Literary. Currently, John works at Amazon MGM Studios/Prime Video in TV Development across both Drama/Comedy and Worldbuilding & Genre Series.
